Dragon Boat Racing and the Festival
Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today - as well as the most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit!
Gable Events has joined with Robinsons Motor Group to bring you the first charity dragon boat festival to be staged in Norwich. The Festival is open to everyone and up to 36 crews are expected to battle it out over the 250m race course, watched by several hundred spectators. The recently completed watersports centre at Whitlingham Broad offers a superb venue for racing and a fabulous day is guaranteed with plenty of bankside family entertainment including Norwich Evening News/Radio Broadland roadshow, children’s activities, live music and food stalls.

Entry Includes

•	Dragon boats, qualified helms and all racing equipment.
•	At least 3 races per crew.
•	Live music and entertainment.
•	Souvenir programme.
•	Trophies for the top three crews, the best-placed mixed crew (minimum 5 ladies), the crew raising the most money for the nominated charity and the ‘best dressed’ crew.
•	Medals for the top three crews.
•	Special Chinese banquet at the Lucky Star restaurant for the crew raising the most money for EACH

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices
East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) is a registered charity, which exists to maximise the quality of life for life-limited children and their families.

We have three hospices within East Anglia; Milton in Cambridge, Quidenham in Norfolk and Ipswich in Suffolk which provide expert care for children who suffer from a range of conditions which means they are likely to die before they reach adulthood. We believe that helping our sick children to make the most of precious time is all important and our hospices are vibrant places offering fun, friendship, laughter and care.

This high standard of care requires funding and since we only receive 10% of our annual income from the government, we absolutely rely on voluntary donations in order to help local children and their families make the most of their precious time together.
