Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today - as well as the most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit!

With more than £75,000 raised to date for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), Gable Events has again joined with EACH to bring you the fifth East Anglian Dragon Boat Festival. Taking place on Sunday 9th May 2010 at Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, the Dragon Boat Festival is open to everyone and over 50 teams are expected to battle it out over the 250m race course, watched by several thousand spectators.

With plentiful on-site parking, great facilities and ample land space for viewing and side activities, Oulton Broad and Nicholas Everett Park offer a superb venue for the Festival. As well as the colourful and exciting races, a wide range of continuous bankside entertainment including funfair, inflatable games, children's activities, food stalls and bar guarantee a fabulous day for all the family!

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) has three children’s hospice care services based at Quidenham in Norfolk, Milton in Cambridge and Ipswich in Suffolk, which also serves North Essex. EACH is a registered charity that relies on public support for the majority of its income of around £5.8million a year. EACH helps life-threatened children and their families with the challenges they face, by providing a range of supportive care in a home-from-home environment, or in the comfort of their own home.
