Dragon Boat Racing and the Challenge
Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today - as well as the most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit!

Following the tremendous success of the 2008 Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenges in London (now in its 11th year) and Manchester (now in its 4th year), which both sold out well before the closing dates and raised more than £40,000 for the industry charity CRASH, organisers Gable Events are launching a brand new Challenge in Cardiff for 2009!
Starting early afternoon, up to 40 crews are expected to battle it out over the 250m race course at each location, aiming to become top crews in the industry and watched by several hundred spectators.

Entering a team into one of the Challenges offers the perfect opportunity to try something completely different, motivate staff and build morale, entertain clients and suppliers, increase profile and raise much needed funds for CRASH. Hundreds of construction industry companies have already discovered the sport’s motivational and team building benefits so why not be part of it!
